Music by Haitises is an initiative developed by a group of young Dominicans who decided to take a public stand against the granting by the Dominican government for a license to build a cement company in the municipality of Gonzalo Monte Plata province.

We assert our commitment to speak out in favor of defending the best interests of the nation so we reject emphatic construction of a cement plant in the municipality of Gonzalo, province of Monte Plata, because it is a project that impacts negatively on the National Park Haitises putting at high risk of natural and cultural resources to protect that area.
As Dominicans we understand that we have to take an active stand against any issue that threatens and jeopardize the conservation of natural resources of our country.
As young people understand that we have an obligation to get involved and participate actively in the processes at work in shaping the future of our country. In this respect we demand our right to participate and be heard on important issues such as this.
